A mile-stone in Indian space research lecture Programme at our school was inaugurated by our headmaster Sri: Jayaprakash.The class is handled by Mr: Sanoj, scientist VSSC trivendrum.There was interactive sessions with space scientists to clear the doudts of our students.Students were actively participated in the programme.Sreekumar, Lakshmi, Bindu P D, Sheeba, Pramod, Prashanth Kumar arranged the programme.
In the inaugural session Headmaster said that The week of October 4-10, was specifically selected because it was on October 4,
1957 that the first artificial satellite of the earth, Sputnik-I was launched
and on October 10, 1967, the United Nations "Treaty on the Principles
Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer
Space" entered into force.
By UN Resolution of 6 December 1999, the General Assembly proclaimed 4
to 10 October as World Space Week, to celebrate the contributions of
space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition.
